Support Kejiriwal to defeat Narendra Modi in Varanasi

The two day Central Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India which was held at its head quarters in New Delhi has called upon the voters of Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency to support Aam Admi Party candidate Arwind Kejiriwal against Narendra Modi the prime ministerial candidate of BJP. The secretariat observed that Modi is promoted, not as an effective alternative to congress, but as a representative of hard-line agressive Hindutwa. The half-hearted reaction of congress to this crucial issue shows that the party is either unable to challenge Modi or not interested to do the same. In this respect, Popular Front being an organization working against communal fascism, and for the upliftment of the marginalised and downtrodden sections appreciate Aam Admi Party decision to field its supreme leader Arwind Kejriwal against Modi in Varanasi, even though we do not fully endorse Aam Admi Party or Kejiriwal. Popular Front views it as an important move that shows their genuine intention to defeat Modi.

The secretariat also condemned the continued attacks on Kejiriwal and attempt to disrupt his party programs. It is a shame in a democratic country like India that a prominent political leader like Kejiriwal gets repeatedly attacked in public. Those who feel threatened by his politics are encouraging these heinous acts to intimidate him. Whoever be behind these attacks, they must be exposed.

At the same time, in Vadodara constituency, since there are no other better alternativeto Modi, the Central Secretariat, called upon the voters to support Indian National Congress candidate Madhusudan Mistry, the most possible winning candidate against BJP in the constituency.
Meanwhile, the meeting reiterated its general policy of supporting the candidates fielded by Social Democratic Party of India and other parties that defends the rights of marginalised communities in constituencies where their candidates are available.

General Secretary
