Babri Masjid Demolition – A symbol of Injustice

On 6th December 1992, the Congress Government led by then Prime Minister Mr. PV Narasimha Rao formed a one man commission under Retired High Court Judge, Justice M.S.Liberhan has to get into the act of Babri Masjid Demolition and to find out People involved in the heinous crime. The report which was to be submitted by Liberhan in 3 months was given 48 extensions and after a gap of 17 years, the report was submitted to then Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh led Government on 30th June 2009. Finally in November, 2009, the report containing 1029 pages and which cost The Exchequer a whopping Rs 8 Crores was tabled in the Parliament by the then, Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram but no action.

The one-man commission indicted top BJP leaders as being actively involved in the Babri Masjid Demolition. The report holds 68 people culpable including L.K.Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Kalyan Singh and his cabinet allowed the RSS to directly run the government. The report further says the Uma Bharti, Govind Acharya, Kalyan Singh, Shankar Singh vaghela are primarily responsible for the demolition of the Babri Masjid and it further adds that they could have prevented the assault.

  1. Indian Government should take action based on recommendations of Justice Liberhan Report The Government should declare “Babri Masjid Demolition” as a Terrorist act and punish the guilty at the earliest.
  2. The Government should take initiative in “Rebuilding Babri Masjid” in the interest of the Nation. Babri Masjid Demolition is a Symbol of Injustice and Government’s reconstruction at the same site will be welcomed by “Secular India”.
  3. The Government should take initiative in resolving the land dispute at the Babri Masjid site and invite Minority Community to help rebuild the Masjid at the same site as Confidence building measure.
