Proof for intelligence wing – accused nexus submitted in court

Madurai: Syed Abdul Kather, the district president of Social Democratic Party of India’s (SDPI) advocate wing had filed a petition in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court seeking the transfer of bomb blast cases in the city to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The counsel for the petitioner had earlier submitted the letters written by former Superintendent of Police to the higher officials highlighting the alleged nexus of criminals and the cops in the intelligence wing.

While the case came for hearing on April 21, the counsel for the petitioner, Peter Ramesh Kumar and Mohamed Abbas, submitted yet another clinching evidence to prove the illegal bond between the cops and the criminals. The evidence, a bank deposit challan, was submitted in the court. The money was allegedly transferred by an accused in the bomb blast case to one Vijaya Perumal, Head Constable in the Intelligence wing. The evidence has raised serious doubts over the functioning of the intelligence wing in the city.

Meanwhile, the counsel for Inspector Madasamy, has informed the court that his client had no objection to subjecting him to any kind of tests to bring out the truth. Earlier, the counsel for the petitioner had sought polygraph tests to be conducted on Inspector Madasamy, ADGP Marirajan and ADGP Karthikeyan. Inspector Madasamy was stopped by the intelligence wing while he was about to arrest the main accused in the bomb blast case. Madasamy was later transferred to another district.

The judge has posted the case for the next hearing on April 28 and has asked the petitioner to submit the audio conversations on that date.
