SDPI former President A Sayeed passes away

Calicut: Social Democratic Party of India former National President A. Sayeed (63) passed away at 5 pm on 2 April 2019. For past few weeks, he was undergoing treatment for cancer at a hospital near Calicut. Born at Edavanna in Malappuram district in 1955, educated at GMUP School Edavanna, IOHS Edavanana and MES College Mampad, he was renowned as a scholar and writer. Well known Islamic scholar A Alavi Moulavi was his father. He retired as Public Relations Inspector from Manjeri Head Post Office. He was the Chairman of National Development Front (NDF) from 2002 to 2006. He also had also worked as State Executive Council Member of NDF and National Executive Council Member of Popular Front of India, President of Muslim Relief Network, and Director of Intermedia Publishing Limited. He authored a number of books books on Islamic topics in Malayalam. The funeral is on 3 April 2019 (Wednesday) at 10 am at Edavanna Juma Masjid.
