Muzaffarnagar Riot cases: Popular Front demands immediate implementation of Allahabad High Court order

Popular Front of India demands immediate implementation of Allahabad High Court order regarding the Muzaffarnagar riots to conduct a fair investigation. The demand was insisted by the lawyers’ team of Popular Front while submitting a memorandum with the court order to the SSP yesterday on 4th January, 2016 at Muzaffarnagar.

Popular Front had constituted a Legal Services panel for the riot victims of Muzaffarnagar on November 2013 to fight for their cases. So far, Legal Team follows around fifty cases and 85 aggrieved families received compensation of five lakhs each from the state government.

Four writ petitions were filed by Popular Front of India through the relatives of the deceased. Adv. S.M. Nazir Abbas Abedi, Adv. K.P. Mohamed Sheriff (Co-ordinator, National Lawyers’ Network), Adv. A. Mohamed Yusuff (National Executive Member, Popular Front of India), Adv. Saipan Sheikh (Maharashtra State General Secretary of NCHRO) appeared before Allahabad High Court for the petitioners Haneef, Yameen, Saeed Hasan and Asia.

After hearing the petitions the court directed the SSP, Muzaffarnagar to ensure a fair investigation conducted and concluded in the offences, referred in the FIRs, in accordance with the law within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.

As per the direction of the Allahabad High Court, the lawyers’ team of Popular Front and the family members of the victims, Saeed Hasan, Yameen and Sabeer yesterday met SSP and submitted the order of the Allahabad High court and demanded immediate implementation.
