Vested interests are against Popular Front as it is voice of suppressed: Elyas Muhammad Thumbe

Bijapur: Popular Front of India, Bijapur district unit, organized a grand public meet here at Alangera Ground on 3rd November 2012 as part of the organization’s national level Campaign “Why Popular Front?.” Karnataka state president of the organization Elyas Muhammad Thumbe presided over the program.

In his speech he said that Striving for the empowerment of backward communities, especially Muslims who remained backward in all sectors is main agenda of Popular Front. He added the organization is also fighting against communalism, terrorism and colonialism. Some vested interests are indulging in malicious campaign against the organization as it is the voice of Muslims and other suppressed communities.

Muazzam Moulana, president of Imams Council said that Popular Front of India has been conducting various social activities across the state. Every year, the organization conducts School Chalo campaign to empower backward people in the field of education. The organization has aimed to achieve 100% of literacy through Sarva Shiksha Grama program.

State president of Social Democratic Party of India, Abdul Majeed Kodlipete said that Muslims are facing security threat in the country. He also said there is need honest will to serve the country to bring real developments.

State committee member Faruq Mysore, Father of Vijapura Church Peter alexandara spoke at the program.

District president Shafika Kannura delivered vote of thanks.
