Coimbatore : Prisoner’s release protest demonstrations

Coimbatore: On behalf of National women’s Front massive rallies and protest demonstrations held in Tamilnadu at Chennai Coimbatore (covai), Madurai and Tirunelveli (Nellai) districts on June 24 demanding the release of Muslim prisoners on the occasion of Arignar Annadurai’s birthday anniversary to be commenced on September 14.

Speaking on the occasion National Women’s Front State president Fathima Alima worried that, “While there is a provision in our constitution to release the prisoners on any special occasions only Muslim prisoners being treated differently in a prejudiced manner” .

Popular front President A.S.Ismail highlighted the plight of the womenfolks and requested the government to deliver justice at earliest in his introductory remarks and inaugurated the rally.

Women’s Rally was headed by NWF President started from Red cross society on 3:00 pm and headed towards the venue demonstration venue. Habeeb Nisha State Secretary of NWF delivered presidential address. Fathima Alima State president of NWF and Advocate Bavani Pa.Mohan, NCHRO State President had participated and delivered their Special keynote addresses. M. Benasir Covai District President of NWF welcomed the gathering and with the vote of thanks of Sharmila, District Secretary of NWF, protest demonstration concluded.
