Popular Front thanks for Assam Relief support

The Central Secretariat of Popular Front of India thanked the well wishers and people at large who have contributed generously to the Assam Relief Fund collection on Eid Day. The organisation will be monitoring the relief and rehabilitation activities executed through selected NGOs and local organisations in affected regions of Assam. The amount collected in different states will be announced by the respective state committees of Popular Front. The meeting also decided to hand over Rs. 50 lakhs to Delhi-based NGO Rehab India Foundation which is already engaged in extensive relief works in Assam. Chairman E. M. Abdul Rahiman presided over the meeting. General Secretary K. M. Shareef reported the Assam situation and submitted proposals for future work in the light of his recent visit.
