Sora: Manipur state unit of Popular Front of India had conducted school chalo (go to shool) campaign which includes Distribution of education Kits for the needy and a Students Rally which held on May 12, 2012 at Sora Community Hall, Thoubal District, Manipur.
About 350 Students with their parents as well as some Scholars, Academicians, Philanthropists, intellectuals and Social workers of Sora Area were present and graced the occasion.

Namely (1) Mufti Arshad Hussain Quasmi, Prisident Popular front of India, Manipur State (2) L. Subon Singh, A.I. school, Z.E.O. Kakching (3)Alhaj Abdul Qudus, Retd. Head Master Phundrei High School ( 4) Md. Abdus Salam, Lecturer Kha Manipur College Kakching (5) Md. Abdul Satar Yumkhaibum, Social Worker (6) Md. Abdul Hafij, Social Worker. 74 Girls and 81 Boys were selected for the programme.

Popular front used to conduct similar educational awareness campaigns every year accross the nation during the Months April and May to ensure all boys and girls to continue formal education.

Though the Right to Education Act has made education of every child between 6 and 14 a fundamental right, it still remain as yet another unfulfilled promise.

Popular front reminds again and urges the central and state governments should support such efforts of voluntary organizations in order to fulfill this constitutional obligation.

Popular Front has been undertaking School Chalo project during school admission period and these initiatives at grass root level have produced tangible results.
