Murder of T P Chandrasekharan reveals cruel face of Stalinist terror: Popular Front

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012
Kozhikode: Popular Front of India termed the murder of T P Chandrasekharan, state leader of Revolutionary Marxist Party, by CPM sponsored goons as ugly face of Stalinist terror. It is the practice of CPM to annihilate those people opposed to their ideology, said Abdussamad, state secretary of Popular Front.
But this time they have exceeded all limits by killing the state leader of a party which has put forth ideological challenge towards them. Moreover the killers have mutilated his face out of recognition. This shows the ideological bankruptcy of the left party.
Abdussmad also said that those who were thinking of uprooting an ideology by killing its leaders lived in fool’s paradise.
He demanded the state government to probe the conspiracy angle of the murder. CPM cannot escape from the responsibility of this heinous killing by pointing towards some ‘religious extremists’ or so, he added.
Chandrashekharan was attacked and killed by unidentified assailants at Vallikkad near Vatakara in Kozhikode district on Friday night.
According to police, 51-year-old Chandrasekharan was attacked by assailants who came by a car while he was riding a motorcycle alone. Country-made bombs were hurled at him and when he fell off the motorcycle, he was hacked to death with sharp weapons.
Chandrasekharan began his political career as an activist of SFI. He later became a whole-timer of the party in its stronghold. Police have already arrested some persons in the case.
