Muslims should include their names in SECC caste census : Popular Front

Popular Front of India Tamilnadu State General Secretary A.Halid mohamed in a press statement urged Jamath elders to create awareness about the ongoing Socio economic caste census among the people in respective Muhalla areas and be vigilant to register all Muslims to include their names without being excluded.

Socio economic caste census is conducted throughout the nation to ascertain the social and economic condition of every community will be helpful for the government to formulate policies. Based on the data collected Government used to provide special privileges including Reservations for certain underprivileged communities .

According to the population census 2001, Muslim population was around 13.4% throughout India and 5.6% in Tamilnadu which reportedly didn’t reveal the actual Muslim population at all. So, grabbing this opportunity, in this ongoing two month long socio economic caste census, Popular front of India requests all Muslims to register their names without fail. we should not allow anyone’s name gone missing either intentionally or unintentionally.
