Imphal, 2nd March 2012: Mufthi Arshad Hussain Quasmi, Manipur State President, Popular Front of India, formally inaugurated a comprehensive project for the educational uplift, in a function here at Paobitek Mamang Leikai High School, Lilong. The project will start with a two week long campaign namely “School Chalo” during which educational surveys, awareness rallies and school kit distribution will be conducted. Adoption of three villages will follow.
Mufti Arshad Hussain Quasmi in his inaugural speech stated that “According to the official and authentic reports, Muslims are the most backward community in India. In Manipur, the situation is worse. One of the main reasons for the backwardness is their negligence in Education, which is because of lack of awareness and financial problems. Popular Front of India organized School Chalo Programme throughout India. In Manipur, we will survey the students in every nook and corner of the State. We have to ensure no student is kept away from school due to financial or any other reasons. All the drop outs are to be re-enrolled to the Schools.”

Kh. Kullachandra (Head master Paobitek Manmang Leikai High School) offered all supports for re-entry of drop outs. M.V. Abdul Majid (Retd. Head Master), M.V Irfanuddin, Ruhul Amin (Councilor, Paobitek Gram Panchayat), Maqbul Ahamed SEC Member PFI, Md Nasir Hussain Social Worker and M. Ruhul Amin addressed the function.

Haji Mohammed Elyas Ali, SEC Member in-charge of Community Development, declared that Popular Front will adopt three villages namely Paovitek, Ataukhong(Lilong) and Sora as Sarva Siksha Grams and start different projects on education, health care and self employment. Any effort in education field will be effective only if it is supported with medical and financial schemes, he added.
