Malappuram, Kerala: Indian secularism will be complete and functional only if Babri Masjid is rebuilt on the same site where it existed before, said Karamana Ashraf Moulavi, state president of Popular Front of India. He was inaugurating a dharna in front of district collectorate demanding the rebuilding of Babri Masjid and implementation of Liberhan commission report that investigated its demolition by fascist forces on 6th December 1992.
To rebuild the masjid on the same site is the need of secularism. It was BJP and its sister organisations that brought its domes to the ground when Congress party was in power at the centre. Even after 18 years the culprits are roaming scot-free and the successive secular governments could not punish them.
He called upon the Muslim community to come together on its common issues instead of wasting money, time and energy to fight each other for silly reasons.
Advocate Rafeeq Kuttikkatur, speaking at the function said that most of the Muslim organisations were faking sleep on the day of Babri demolition instead of coming out to raise their voices against the injustice. He also warned the authorities and fascist forces in the country that Popular Front of India would not forget Babri Masjid and would go on its democratic fight for its rebuilding.
