Punaloor (Kollam, Kerala): Popular Front state general secretary P Abdul Hameed demanded the governments to disband investigating agencies which had been leveling baseless allegations against Popular Front for last 20 years. He was inaugurating district level concluding ceremony of campaign named ‘Freedom is Birth Right’ conducted by the organisation here.
There was an intelligence report about the involvement of Popular Front in the Kasarkode violence that led to the police firing. The report was a ploy from the part of intelligence agencies to prevent the organisation from holding Freedom Parade. And the ongoing report in the media against Popular Front in the guise of central home ministry findings is meant to block Social Justice Conference to be held in Delhi next month, Abdul Hameed added.
He also made it clear that Popular Front was ready to face any investigation. It does not believe that issues of Indian Muslims would be solved through bomb blasts and other terror activities. And the organisation is being hunted by the vested interests for its unwavering stand against fascism and imperialism, he added. He also said the Popular Front would continue its fight for the sake of marginalised and backward sections in the society despite all these challenges.
Popular Front district president Siddeeque Mayyathunkara presided over the function. State Council member Noorul Ameen delivered key note address.
