Freedom is birthright: Popular Front regional rallies tomorrow

Friday, October 14th, 2011
Thiruvananthapuram: Popular Front of India will conduct regional rallies in Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram, Permbavur and Kozhikkode to mark the end of state wide campaign- ‘Freedom is Birthright’. The one month long campaign throughout the state was organised in the backdrop of ongoing hostile approaches by the state machineries towards Popular Front of India, especially the undemocratic ban on Freedom Parade by the volunteers of the organisations which was slated to be held on last August 15 in four towns of Kerala as part of freedom celebrations, said Karamana Ashraf Moulavi, state president of Popular Front in a press conference in Kochi.
It’s very much regrettable that Muslims, whose forefathers shed their lives in the fight for the freedom of the country were forced to go to court for the right to celebrate that independence, he added. At the same time RSS men who had spied on freedom fighters for the sake of their British masters, were given permission to hold weapon wielding parades in the state on the same day. This attitude of government was nothing but injustice and double standard, he alleged.
He also said that the anti Muslim forces in the country had indulged in vilification campaign against Popular Front of India, a fast growing organisation in the country, in connivance with vested interested among media citing unverifiable intelligence reports.
