Kerala: Popular Front’s Freedom Parade in Four Towns

Kozhikkode: Popular Front of India has decided to organize Freedom Parade of this year in four towns of Kerala. The Parade will be held at Punaloor, Chavakkadu, Manjeri and Thamarassery towns.
The parade being held in Kerala on every August 15 right from 2004 with the slogan, ‘be the sentinels of freedom’ is meant to create awareness among people about the importance of protecting our freedom, to instill confidence and to inculcate national feeling among them, said state secretariat of the organisation. The parade used to attract thousands of people wherever it is held, irrespective of religion and parties. It has helped to popularise the freedom celebrations which was restricted to a small sections of the society till then. The secretariat called upon the people of the state to make the parade a huge success.
Apart from Kerala, the Freedom Parade was being held in Karnataka and Tamilnadu for last three years.
State president S Ashraf Moulavi, P Abdul Hameed, T K Abdussamad and K H Nasar participated the meeting.
