SDPI demands Lokayukta in Tamil Nadu

Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has stated that the level of corruption among the politicians and bureaucrats had reached an alarming level in the State. The party pointed out that the creation of Lokayukta, which is an anti-corruption ombudsman, would help to curb the corruption in the State.

The party has launched an agitation in the State from March 3 to March 13. The theme of the agitation is ‘corruption free Tamil Nadu, bribe free bureaucracy’. As part of this agitation, human chains were formed in all the districts on March 3. Hundreds of party cadres and public participated in the human chains and raised their demand for corruption-free Tamil Nadu. Party State president Shaik Mohamed Dehlan Baqavi, led the human chain at Chennai.

The party has also decided to conduct protest demonstrations in front of the Collector offices. Street corner meetings and pamphlet distribution are also held as part of the agitation to create awareness among the public.
