Kulgam : Professor P. Koya, Vice Chairman of Popular Front of India, handed over 271 houses to the victims of Kashmiri Floods in a public program organised at Kulgam, Kashmir on November 7,2014 . Popular Front of India swiftly swung into action since the day one of flood disaster which devastated the lives of thousands of Kashimiri families. A relief and rehabilitation team constituted under National Secretariat provided food, Clothing, medicine and shelter to the people of flood affected 4 districts. Medical camp was also conducted for the children with the help of Dr Jameel Akhtar renowned pediatrician.
Relief and rehabilitation team made a thorough field survey to assess the damage and reported to the high command. Based on the report sent, Popular Front sets target to construct 351 houses under “Winter housing Project”. In the First phase, about 271 houses were handed over to Nisar Hussain, DC, Kulgam. Relief and rehabilitation works are still going on. Following an appeal to the nation by the Chairman, Popular Front of India cadres donated their one day income to the humanitarian mission and also raised funds in front of the masjids and Eidgah congregational prayers throughout the nation.
