Popular Front condemns the removal of the words “Secularism” and “Socialism”

New Delhi: A statement released by Popular Front Chairman KM Shareef has condemned NDA government’s Republic Day advertisement which published the preamble of Indian constitution omitting the words “secular” and “socialist”. Shareef said that the move is an alarming attempt to attack the secular values enshrined in the constitution of India.
The move should be seen as calculated one since the Sangh outfits have previously expressed their intolerance to Constitution through their actions and words. The Sangh Parivar has launched heinous campaigns like Love Jihad and Ghar Wapasi to target minority rights. The constitution of India has always been the biggest hurdle before the fascist groups. The governments ally Shiv Sena is publicly demanding the deletion of the words “secularism” and socialism”. The intolerance to both words unequivocally testifies NDA’s communal agenda. The influence of corporate houses on the government’s policies is again proved by the omission of the word “socialist”.
Shareef appealed to people of India belonging to all sections to come forward and protect the constitution.
