Popular Front kicks off Healthy People Healthy Nation Campaign in Karnataka

Shimogga: Hundreds of cadres and supporters of Popular Front of India participated at the Marathon rally held in the city on 3 November 2013 as part of the organization’s Karnataka state inauguration of national level Healthy People Healthy National Campaign.

The rally started from Court Circle premise in the city, passed through Gopi Circle, Ameer Ahmed Circle, Bus Stand and gathered near Kamath Petrol Bank at N.T.Road where a public meet held which started with demonstration of Yoga.

Mains speaker Razaq Kemmara, Vice president of Popular Front said that his organization has been organizing national level campaign Healthy People Healthy Nation after realizing that good health of the people can only protect our nation.

He said, “40% of children in our country are malnutrition. Most of people do not have sanitary proper facilities. Large numbers of people in our country are using open ground as toilet as the government has failed to give them the facility and this has caused spreading of many diseases.

He said, “The rate of women death during delivery period is increasing day by day due to lack of nutrition. While children were suffering from malnutrition, BJP government in its last tenure, playing communal politics, withdrew the decision of distributing eggs for children in government schools, so that it deceived poor children from accessing a nutritious food.”

Speaking on the occasion Popular Front state secretary Shareef Bajpe said, a strong nation can be built only by healthy and strong persons. In our country many people are suffering from various deceases, especially diabetes and cardiac problems that are haunting largely. Maintaining exercises and Yoga can help people to preserve their health from such deceases.

“Now hospitals are becoming profitable entrepreneurs. In this juncture, Popular Front of India has been creating health awareness among the people through various programs like marathon, yoga trainings and other sport meets”, he added.

SDPI state general secretary Abdul Hannan released a hand book on Yoga and other health tips.

Shimogga city council president Khurshida Banu, SDPI state committee member K.B.Basheer Ahmed, Popular Front of district president Shahida Khan, SDPI district president Aijaz Pasha, SDPI city council member Tharannum Banu and Campus Front disrict president Ubedullah Shareef and other leaders were present on the occasion. Nasir Pasha coordinated the program.
