Seminars organized by Popular Front of India at different places in Kerala urged the Central Government itself to undertake the control of pricing of all essential drugs including life saving drugs, and to ensure free treatment to all citizens considering treatment as a fundamental right. The move to fully relinquish drug price control and hand it to monopoly companies as has been done in diesel pricing is highly deplorable. Handing over the power of the Central Government on drug control to monopoly companies is an example of the anti-people policies of the Modi government, the seminars opined.
Popular Front National Vice Chairman Prof. P. Koya, Kerala State President Karamana Asharaf Moulavi and Kerala State General Secretary K. Sadath inaugurated the seminars at Calicut Tower, Kozhikode, at Malabar Tower, Manjeri and at Alappuzha respectively. MES State President Fazal Gafoor, Iqraa Hospital Pharmacy Manager E. Abdul Rahman, Dr. Mohammed Renees, Dr. T. Muhammed, Public Health Worker Sugathan Vilayil and AKCDA District Secretary Prasannan spoke at the seminars.
