‘Impose goonda act against moral police’

Belthangady: Popular Front of India Belthangady district president Hyder Neersal has demanded imposition of goonda act against those who involve in moral policing.
He was speaking at a press conference held at Varthabhavan, Belthangady recently. Condemning the incident of moral policing occurred on Wednesday, he said Sangh Parivar elements have purposely assaulted unmarried couple in Ujire Bus stand. Such attacks are frequently taking place in Ujire with the backing of Sangh Parivar organizations. People even fear to come to the street because of these hooliganism.
He said, some efforts are going on to protect main accused from the case even with the help of some secular leaders. Police should not bend into any type of pressure and should arrest the culprits who were behind the attack.
SDPI Taluk president Akbar Belthangady, vice president Abdurrazak, president of Muslim Okkuta Belthangady B.A.Nazeer, Popular Front leader Haneef were present at the press conference.
Recently some sangh parivar activists had attacked a Muslim pair who got engaged recently and to be married shortly, suspecting that they belonged to different communities while they were waiting for bus at Ujire Bus stand.
