Chikmagaluru: Popular Front demands action against communal biased police

Chikmagaluru: A delegation of Popular Front of India, Chikmagaluru district leaders, submitted a memorandum to District Collector demanding immediate action against the communal elements who tried to instigate communal violence in the district.

The organization also demanded action against the police who misbehaved with Muslims instead of taking action against the communally motivated forces.

“Muslims were observing bandh demanding action against the communal elements who tried to instigate communal hatred throwing pig corpse outside a dargah in the city. In that time, some people possessing saffron flag in their hands entered into the scene and forced some Muslims to open their shops. The Muslims asked police to take action against these saffron group. However, police did not take action against them, instead they resorted lathi charge on Muslims. They also hurt sentiments of Muslims by taking their foot wear inside Masjid”, the memorandum stated.
