Popular front Day celebrated across the state with enthusiasm

Popular front day is celebrated on the 17th of February every year to commemorate the foundation day of the movement. This year too the day was celebrated across the nation with enthusiasm. The day was marked with flag hoistings, rallies, public programs and distribution of welfare measures.
As part of of this celebrations flag hoisting program was conducted at the State Headquarters located at Purasawalkam. State President Muhammad Ismail hoisted the movement’s tricolour flag. State vice president Mohammad Shaikh Ansari presided over the program. South Chennai district president Mohammad Nazim, district secretary Zakir Hussain,Campus Front of India State President Abdul Rahman also were present.
National General Secretary Muhammad Ali Jinnah hoisted the flag at Kadayanallur and National executive Council member A.S. Ismail hoisted the flag at Coimbatore. State General Secretary Khaled Mohamed hoisted the flag at Madurai while States secretaries Mohideen Abdul Kader and Mohammed Fayaz hoisted the flag at eruvadi Tirunelveli district and Salem respectively.
This year popular front day was celebrated with the message ‘defeat hate politics’. The leaders after hoisting the flag addressed the gathering. They mentioned the evil effects of hate politics carried over by the Hindutuva forces across the nation and stressed the need to defeat the hate politics to secure the secularism, pluralism and constitution of the nation.
The District presidents hoisted the flag at the districts head quarters and addressed the gathering. Earlier in the day Popular Front flag was hoisted at over 600 units in the state. Popular front cadres and the general public participated in large numbers in all the programs conducted across the state.
One minute silence was observed in the programs as a mark of respect for the CRPF security personnel who were killed in the cowardly attack at Pulwama district in Kashmir on February 14th.
