Popular Front demands justices in Rajsamand killing

Popular Front Rajasthan state committee has strongly condemned the killing of Mohammed Afrazul, a 48 year old migrant from West Bengal in Rajsamand, Rajasthan. Both the videos of the killing and the confession along with photos of the charred body have gone viral on social media. Although the police have arrested the murderer Shambhu Lal Regar and the nephew who had shot the video, it is important to book the people who motivated him to carry out this murder. The main reason for the murder is the fake propaganda of Hindutva Fascist who invented the concept of ‘Love Jihad’ which is not real.

This is not the first such killing that is happening in the state. It’s the fourth in the last nine months, showing absolute impunity to the killers of Muslims. The first one being that of Pehlu Khan, a dairy farmer who died on the 3rd of April, after being attacked by a crowd of Gau Rakshaks in Behror, Alwar. The second killing of Zafar Khan happened on 16th June in the name of Swach Bharat Abhiyan, the Municipality chairperson and other Safai Karmachari beat him to death in Pratapgarh town. The police have not arrested anybody, claiming that he died of a heart attack, completely protecting the municipality people. The third killing happened on the 10th November 2017, in the early hours, when Umair Khan and his colleagues were transporting cows and were shot by Gau Rakshaks in Govindgarh Tehsil, Alwar district. The killers carried the body to a railway track 15 kms away and tried to destroy all evidences.

A delegation of the Popular Front of India reached Rajsamand on 7th December and took the information of the incident and met the family members of Shahid Afrajul Khan (Bhutta), I G of Police Ashok Shrivastav, S P of Police Manoj Kumar and District Collector Premchand Barua. Popular Front Rajasthan State committee demanded a judicial probe to expose the entire conspiracy behind this incident and also demanded compensation of Rs. 50 lakh to the deceased family.
