Gulbarga: Human chain Protest on 14th November and conclusion of “Justice For Bilal” campaign by Campus Front
Gulbarga: Menace of discrimination Which has now reached to its peak as it is evident in case of “MUHAMMAD BILAL”, a class Xth student of Shree Guru Vidya Peetha Gulbarga, who lost his life because of the discrimination and the inhumane behavior he was meted out in his school, ultimately resulting in his death .
Even after death his misery continued as his family was targeted by malicious rumors and those who were guilty of his death roamed free. School Authorities who left the corpse of innocent boy unattended in hospital and Fled, are now trying hard to cover up the Case by all sorts of pressurization tactics using their Political clout. This is evident from the fact that even after several protests and a FIR naming the people was lodged, no solid action was taken, and police has decided to look other ways mostly. Whereas we have firsthand accounts of many school children who (on condition of anonymity) admitted that the kid died due to punishment. These kids were threatened to remain silent by authorities.
Against this apathy, We Campus Front of India decided to run a Campaign to protest against this injustice done to Muhammad Bilal & to check the menace of religious discrimination, and we named our campaign as "Justice For Bilal", and simultaneously we also wanted to spread awareness towards the cause of his death i.e “Religious Discrimination”.
Under this campaign the students of campus front of India reached various institutions irrespective of religion or castes, and collected thousands of signatures in the district. The enthusiasm shown by students was unprecedented in the student community of Gulbarga, so much so that at some places even though the management was hesitant about the campaign, the students participated in large numbers. even The school where the kid died , the students participated .The onlinecampaign created for this campaign (( facebook.com/justiceforbilal )) garnered more than 18000 views and whole of the student community of Gulbarga voiced support for cfi's campaign against religious discrimination.
This campaign concluded on 14 November 2012 ((children's day)), with a human chain protest,After the human chain Protest, a Rally was organized towards the D.C office , and a dharna was held at the mini vidhan saudha . Welcoming the students at the dharna SYED MOHSIN HUSSAINI ,president campus front of India Gulbarga district said “ campus front will take up every issue of students ,regardless of religion and caste, I appreciate you all coming here to show the solidarity with bilal”
Sheikh siraj pasha ,Dist gen.secy Popular Front of India Gulbarga referring to a FIR 223 at grameen police station he said “the police is showing double standards ,on one hand a person is arrested on no solid grounds and on other hands police is colluding with shree guru to protect them. Bilal until alive was of his parents, but now he is a Son of whole community”
Syed Habeebuddin Sarmast SDPI dist secy, criticized the silence of the elected represenatatives on this sensitive issue and called upon the people to replace them. He asked students to shun the careless approach and come out to lead.
Syed qawwamuddin juanidi alias wahhaj baba president MTM Gulbarga , questioned the investigation of police and asked for a fair probe by central agencies and he said “bilal may not get justice in this world but surely will get justice in front of Allah.
Md Shahid Naseer, President PFI Gulbarga then addressed the gathering , he highlighted the strength of students and urged them to understand their responsibilities, he also advised Campus front to take this campaign to a state level campaign . we will support campus front in every way.
Talha Hussain, SEC Member Karnataka Campus Front criticized police for their inaction , and said “the investigation police did about our campaign,if they had done about this case all the culprits would have been in jail now. The intimidation tactics will not work on us, we will not bow down. Justice for Bilal is not only bilal, but to the theousands of Bilals studying in school, campus front will not stop until it destroys the RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION .
After that the memorandum and the signatures were submitted to Hon'ble GOVERNER of Karnataka. With following demands
* To order to initiate a CBI enquiry for the case. As it is evident that due to uncertain pressures Police is not able to conduct a fair probe in the matter.
* To order the Arrest of Accused Teachers. Although a FIR including serious IPC 302,307 has been lodged no accused is arrested yet.
* To order for the Cancellation of the school license. School is a place where an Ideal Citizen is molded But the School authority has failed to uphold those High Moral values by their Pressurization and cover-up. Such school cannot bring up any good citizen.
* To Order and enact A Law to curb the Religious discrimination in the Educational Institutions.
Many other organizations like Popular Front of India ,Dalit sena , SDPI, MTM etc also voiced support for the campaign and the human chain protest.
