M. Mohammed Ali Jinnah, General Secretary, Popular Front of India in a statement issued here today stated that the role played by Sri Sri Ravishankar in Babri Masjid – Ram Mandir is not that of an impartial mediator, but that of a biased advocate of Mandir against Masjid.
The statements issued by Ravishankar after his talks with some rather insignificant Hindus and Muslims clearly illustrates his partisan intentions which make him unfit as a mediator. He said that by and large, Muslims he conversed were not opposing construction of the Ram Temple at the disputed site. In other words, he falsely implies that the Muslims are ready to surrender their claim of Babri Masjid.
Since it is an issue embedded on both facts and myths, his studies silence on facts, while running behind myths is nothing but hypocrisy. While Ram Janmasthan at Babri site is a disputed myth, the construction of Babri Masjid in 1528, installation of idol inside Babri Masjid in 1949 and its unscrupulous demolition in 1992 are undisputed facts. Hence human conscience calls for an early restoration of facts that is Babri Masjid over a myth that is Ram Mandir on the Babri site. The reported statements about the discussions held by Ravishankar tell that only Mandir construction is the issue and the issue of Masjid reconstruction on the demolished site is conveniently ignored.
Mohammed Ali Jinnah appealed Muslim leaders not to waste time and get deceived by falling into the trap of any self imposed negotiator, since such exercises will have no legal validity in the title suits that are pending before the Supreme Court and will not lead to any solution of the issue.
